Lulu Moon Academy was created around a simple belief: childhood should be memorable.

We aren't trying to be the biggest program. We're focused on creating a meaningful childhood experience for every child and family who walks through our door.

Our intentionally small enrollment allows us to truly know each child as an individual. We celebrate milestones, build genuine relationships, and create opportunities for children to explore, discover, create, and grow.

Our days are filled with nature walks, story time, gardening, messy art projects, outdoor adventures, homemade experiences, and plenty of opportunities for children to simply be children.

At Lulu Moon Academy, we believe every childhood deserves a little magic.

We welcome children from 3 months through 5 years of age.

Lulu Moon Academy is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

At this time, we offer full-time enrollment only.

Our enrollment is intentionally limited. We believe children thrive in smaller groups where they are known, valued, and supported as individuals. Small group sizes allow us to build meaningful relationships with every child and family. We plan to accommodate 5-8 children at this time.

Our days are intentionally structured to balance learning, exploration, rest, creativity, and plenty of time to simply be a child. While no two days are exactly alike, children can expect a combination of outdoor play, circle time, themed learning activities, stories, art, music, imaginative play, meals, and rest.

Our curriculum is built around monthly themes, hands-on experiences, outdoor exploration, and childhood wonder.

Children may spend one month learning about ocean life through books, sensory activities, art projects, and science experiments, while another month may focus on birds and nature, gardening, weather, farm life, forests, community helpers, or space exploration.

Rather than relying on worksheets, we believe children learn best through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and exploration.

Absolutely.

Outdoor exploration is one of the foundations of the Lulu Moon experience. Weather permitting, children spend time outside every day exploring nature, playing, learning, gardening, and enjoying our outdoor spaces.

Lulu Moon Academy is intentionally screen-free.

We believe children learn best through play, conversation, creativity, exploration, books, and real-life experiences. Instead of screens, our days are filled with hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, stories, music, art, and imaginative play.

On rare occasions, a special event or educational experience may include limited screen use. Families will be notified in advance whenever applicable.

We provide a wholesome morning snack and afternoon snack each day. Snacks typically include a fruit or vegetable paired with a grain to help keep children energized throughout the day.

Examples may include:

• Apple slices and whole grain crackers

• Strawberries and mini whole wheat muffins

• Cucumber slices and pretzels

Families are asked to provide lunch for their child. Refrigeration and food warming are available as needed.

We know how difficult it can be to spend the day away from your child. That's why we make family communication a priority.

Lulu Moon Academy utilizes Playground, a dedicated parent communication app that allows families to stay connected throughout the day. Through Playground, families receive photos, updates, reminders, and important announcements, along with regular glimpses into the moments that make childhood special.

You can expect frequent photos, daily communication, and regular updates about what your child is learning, exploring, and enjoying. We want families to feel informed, connected, and confident that they are part of their child's experience, even when they're apart.

Under New Jersey regulations, family child care homes caring for five or fewer non-related children are not required to obtain a childcare license or registration. Although not required, Lulu Moon Academy has chosen to voluntarily register with the State of New Jersey as a Family Child Care Home and expects to complete registration by September 1, 2026.

We believe families deserve the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and accountability. Our caregivers maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications, complete required background checks, and follow established health, safety, and emergency preparedness procedures.

Yes. Security cameras are utilized in common areas of the academy to support the safety and security of our children, families, and caregivers.

Camera footage is securely maintained and may be reviewed when necessary to investigate incidents, accidents, injuries, safety concerns, or other situations requiring clarification. While cameras are an important safety tool, they are not used as a substitute for active supervision.

Live camera access is not provided to families. We believe strong communication, frequent updates, and trusting relationships are the best way to keep families connected to their child's day.

Yes. All caregivers maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications and have successfully completed FBI federal background checks and all other required screenings in accordance with New Jersey regulations.

Caregivers work alongside children to understand the feelings and needs behind their behavior. We use redirection, age-appropriate guidance, validation of emotions, problem-solving, and offering choices to help children develop self-regulation skills.

Rather than focusing solely on correcting a behavior, we help children identify their feelings, understand how their actions impact others, and learn more appropriate ways to express themselves. Our goal is to build confidence, empathy, communication skills, and emotional awareness that children will carry with them long after they leave our care.

For the health and safety of all children, any child experiencing a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious illness should remain home until symptoms have resolved and they are no longer contagious. Children must be fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to care.

Additional health policies will be provided during enrollment.

At this time, we do not have any field trips planned.

As Lulu Moon Academy grows, there may be opportunities for community outings or educational experiences. Should field trips be introduced in the future, families will receive advance notice, written consent forms, and parents will always be welcome and encouraged to participate.

Absolutely. We believe strong partnerships with families are one of the most important parts of a child's experience. Open communication and family involvement are always encouraged.

At this time, we do not maintain an active waitlist. Enrollment is offered based on current availability.

Tuition is discussed during your tour and varies based on age group and enrollment needs.

Age groups include:

• 3 months to 18 months

• 18 months to 3 years

• 3 years to 5 years

To reserve your child's placement at Lulu Moon Academy, an enrollment deposit equal to one month's tuition is required upon enrollment.

The deposit is applied to your child's final month of care, provided the required notice of withdrawal of 30 days is given. Because enrollment is intentionally limited, a reserved space cannot be held without a deposit.

Your first month's tuition is not due until your child's first day of attendance.

Lulu Moon Academy is named after our daughters, Atlas Moon and Kaia Lulu, who inspired our vision for a different kind of childhood experience.

Like many parents, we wanted a place where children could spend their days exploring nature, building friendships, creating memories, and learning through meaningful experiences rather than rushing from one activity to the next.

What began as a dream for our own children grew into a desire to create that same experience for other families. Today, Lulu Moon Academy reflects the values that inspired its name: curiosity, connection, kindness, adventure, and the belief that childhood should be cherished.
